Living by the motto “Dedicated to serve and empower,” Prime Minister Gaston Browne was born in the beautiful village of Potters and raised in the Point and Grays farm communities.
He proudly proclaims himself to be a multi-ghettoist.
Born into abject poverty, Gaston through grit, hard work, and education, was able to lift himself out of poverty, rising to become the leader of his country’s.
He is an inspiration to all, especially our young men and women who were born into hard times; knowing too, that they can accomplish their dreams.
During his tenure, Prime Minister Browne has lifted our country and empowered its people.
Developments in the constituency includ the Villa Polyclinic and Community Center, the new port project in the constituency, new cargo port, the new cruise ship birth, the Fort James Reverse Osmosis Plant, which improves water supply in the area, the Renovation and Expansion of Villa Primary School, an educational development programme, improved road infrastructure and the elimination of pit latrines, recording studio, music program, community hydroponics facility, and a feeding program.
Prime Minister Browne has also touched the lives of many individuals in his constituency. He has provided affordable homes and assisted with start-up businesses. He has sponsored numerous sports teams in the area. He has privately funded academic pursuits of young people. He expanded a music programme and a community hydroponics programme.
He is connected to his community through various outreach programs.
The Prime Minister’s guiding Biblical verse is Psalms 23, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Prime Minister Browne is a graduate of the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), majoring in Banking and Finance.
In June 2017, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the American University of Antigua (AUA) in New Jersey, USA for his leadership and championing of issues affecting small island states.
Prime Minister Browne is married to the lovely and successful Maria Browne and is the proud father of five children.
He attends the Weslyan Holiness Church.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing football, dominoes, swimming and boating.
